    Museum Shop

    About

The Shop at Cockey’s, the museum shop and bookstore of the Historical Society of Carroll County, houses a wide variety of unique items for everyone. Our stock, much of which is on consignment, constantly expands and evolves. Decorative, practical and original creations arrive regularly so visit us in person or on line to find the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one or just to see what’s new. We are always on the lookout for distinctive merchandise. A number of consignors’ items, many of which are one-of-a-kind, are exclusively available in our shop at remarkably reasonable and affordable prices.

Our book section specializes in the history of Carroll County through publications produced by HSCC and other publishers. We carry books on the history of Maryland and the region, decorative arts, architecture, artifact care and conservation. A number of works by local authors and a great selection of historically relevant children’s books round out the book store experience.

In our fast-paced world of instant gratification, many of the old crafts survived only because dedicated crafters played an integral part in keeping these skills alive. The shop showcases the traditional work of a number of talented and dedicated artisans. We also carry acid-free materials for the preservation of archives and artifacts.
