The arrival of the peddler (a.k.a. traveling salesman) was an exciting event for the farmer during the 1800’s. Instead of having to travel to a general store that was miles away, the peddler brought wares to sell, news and gossip from nearby towns, and merchandise that was new to the farmer’s family. Children will learn about these peddlers through stories, imaginative play, and games. They will decorate one of the items the peddler sold. For each class, there is a $6.00 charge which includes materials. Pre- registration is required; registration closes the Monday before the class.
