A Study of Early Places of Faith in Carroll County.

Faith has always been an important part of life in Carroll County, and so it’s not a surprise that when the early settlers of what we now know as Carroll County began to form towns in the 1700s; one of the first priorities was to facilitate the practice of religion.  This talk will present some of the earliest congregations in Carroll County and how the movement filtered and flourished over the centuries.  For example, in Westminster, that growth involved the construction of a “Union Meeting House,” to be used by the various religions observed by our community’s pioneers – especially the Lutheran and Methodist denominations.  Kevin Dayhoff will present an historical overview of the places and practices that supported early faith expressions in Carroll County.

Event to be held in-person – No RSVP Registration Required.  Cost is $3.00 for HSCC Members and $7.00 for non-members upon entry with drinks and snacks provided. Join us to Watch Facebook Live from Grace Hall on Carroll Street
