Train enthusiasts, mark your calendar for Historic Railroad Week, November 8-12.  Five historical societies in the area and the Carroll County Public Library have  formed a partnership to offer 5 different talks on the history of the railroad:

Monday, November 8, 7:00 pm – Rail Industry Workers in Cumberland County, PA, presented by the Cumberland County Historical Society

Tuesday, November 9, 7:00 pm – The Rail Industry in York County, presented by the York History Center

Wednesday, November 10, 7:00 pm – The Impact of the Railroad on the Iron Furnaces, by Franklin County Historical Society

Thursday, November 11, 7:00 pm – The Restoration of America’s Train Stations, by Adams County Historical Society

Friday, November 12, 7:00 pm – The Western Maryland Railroad, by Historical Society of Carroll County (Jim Shriver)
