The Town of Sykesville is named after James Sykes, a local businessman and Old Defender during the War of 1812. On this state holiday, learn about current and past defenders of our nation alongside service members, re-enactors, history displays, weapons demonstrations, music and kids activities in Sykesville’s Millard Cooper Park.
