Box Lunch Talk: Battle of Westminster: Corbit’s Charge Revisited presented by Steve Carney

On June 29th, 1863, the tragedy of war unfolded upon the streets of Westminster, MD. This ferocious battle, although brief, caused major implications upon the Battle of Gettysburg and the Civil War as a whole. This talk, given by historian Steven W. Carney, will discuss the events leading up to “Corbit’s Charge,” the battle itself, the aftermath, and the impact the battle had upon the Civil War. Steven will also discuss highlights of the role Carroll County played within the Gettysburg Campaign and the Civil War.
