Carroll 250 Event: History Feast Foodways Weekend

Join the Historical Society and other historic sites as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary with a foodways weekend!

We hope you can join us for a Revolution in Wine and Tales hosted by Bernie Vogel on Friday, July 24th at 6pm. We are bringing HSCC’s popular wine and food event to the Society’s campus in person! Bernie will be joined by Hood College Professor Corey Campion who will speak about the American Revolution as Bernie shares period appropriate companion wines. There will also be charcuterie boards and a delicious dessert prepared by Bernie. All culminating in a toast to the Revolution, just like our Founding Fathers did! If you have attended HSCC’s Winter Wine Warmers in the past, this is the perfect event for you! Tickets are just $40 or $70 for a two-ticket discount.

On Saturday, join other participating historic sites as they share other foodways history and stories.

Then on Saturday night, the Carroll County Farm Museum will host their 60th Anniversary Gala. See the link for more details, to sponsor, or get your tickets today!

Sunday from 12 pm – 7 pm, HSCC will round out the weekend with a tour of Sharon Pickett’s farmhouse in Woodbine (5435 Bethel Road). Sharon will share the history of her home with a tour and feature her “historic” cookies which have been made on her farm for decades for various community events and fundraisers.
