A Gown for Mrs. Gist.
Visit the Historical Society of Carroll County and engage with mantua makers, milliners and seamstresses as they create an 18th gown, influenced by a portrait of Mrs. Mordecai Gist, attributed to Charles Wilson Peale.
Dressed in 18th century clothing, the ladies will be reproducing a stylish silk sacque back gown, to be displayed in July.
Two workdays are planned for public interaction. Saturday, May 16 and Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 am-3:00 pm.
