CARROLL 250

Carroll 250 Speaker Series: Flying Camp Companies of the American Revolution presented by Sean Considine

In 1774, the Maryland Convention resolved that men should form themselves into militia companies for the defense of the province. These companies would form across all of Maryland including Carroll (then Frederick County) and would serve in various capacities throughout the American War for Independence. Join us for a look into the men and service of Jacob Good’s Company from Taneytown, that would most famously serve in the Flying Camps of 1776 during the battles for New York, from their formation in 1774 through the end of hostilities in 1783.

Sean Considine is an independent researcher, educator, and presenter focusing on the events and politics surrounding the American Revolution.
