CARROLL 250

Carroll 250 Speaker Series: Patriots of Carroll County – Normand Bruce Presented by John Laycock

Join us as local historian John Laycock discusses the story of Normand Bruce, his enduring legacy in Carroll County, and the foundation of Bruceville, where Myrtle Hill, the home he built in the 1760s, still stands. Bruce was a Scottish immigrant, businessman, prominent landowner, soldier, politician, husband, and father. He answered the call during the American Revolution and served as an officer in the Maryland militia.

Mr. Laycock is a member of the Westminster Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and a board member of the Historical Society of Carroll County.

Registration is required for this event. Please follow the link to the Carroll County Public Library website to register today.
