10th Annual Legacy Gala | Fly Me To The Moon

Saturday, April 27 | 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

We invite you to the Historical Society of Carroll County’s 2024 Legacy Gala to celebrate the theme,Fly Me To The Moon, with dining, dancing, and socializing. Join us to toast the Historical Society’s 85th Anniversary. The moonstone is the 85th anniversary gemstone. The Roman’s admired the moonstone, as they believed it was derived from solidified rays of the moon. Frank Sinatra included the song in his 1964 album, It Might as Well Be Swing, accompanied by Count Basie. The music for the album was arranged by Quincy Jones. The popular song became connected to the Apollo human spaceflight program, which was conceived in 1960 and landed men on the moon in 1969.

We hope you will become a sponsor for what is sure to be an evening that is out of this world, and lend your support to our mission to connect the past to the present and make Carroll County’s vibrant history tangible, relevant and meaningful for generations to come.
