The Carroll County Agricultural Land Preservation Program administers various programs, with the goal of permanently preserving at least 100,000 acres of agricultural land. Despite John Adams wanting the holiday to be celebrated on July 2, that’s not the day we celebrate our nation’s independence. We celebrate on July 4th since it was the day the Declaration of Independence was formally adopted.  

Jonathan Herman has renovated many historic properties in Carroll County, including Cockey’s Tavern in 2008. He received the 2013 Maryland Preservation Award for Excellence in Residential Rehabilitation from the Maryland Historic Trust, for his renovation of Wilson's Inheritance in Union Bridge.
